POSITIONS EXPERIENCE
fidelity.com

Summary

The Positions Experience on Fidelity.com was already an award-winning experience.  My team's mission was to make it better.

As the design lead of an Agile team building the next iteration of the positions experience, my role was threefold.

  • Architect a vision of retail investment management that adhered to Fidelity's technology constraints and design standards.

  • Shepherd that vision through the design, business, and technology organizations.

  • Build all necessary artifacts, including wires, specs, visual designs, and Creative QA docs.

This multi-year project just released to customers, with substantial positive feedback.

**Since I was laid off from the company, the positions experience my team designed and built was decommissioned.

MOBILE FIRST

We focused specifically on how users monitor and evaluate their investments on phones and tablets, conducting qualitative and quantitave user research studies.

GRID DESIGN

We designed the grid for ease of use, not just for density of information.  We used bigger text but less white-space, and built an easier taxonomy for more complicated financial products. (Options and Fixed Income)

FOCUS ON YOUR TASKS

The design concept is centered on user tasks, and trying to reduce visual noise.  Giving users a deep dive into their investment, while shutting out the clutter of the rest of the site was extremely well received.
